Vinylmation 3D Pin: Parks 4 - Downtown Disney: Adventurer’s Club - Colonel Critchlow Sunchbench
The Vinylmation pins were designed after the popular Vinylmation tradable collectables. Many were regular enamel pins, but some, like this one were sculpted from a hard plastic or vinyl-like material to give a realistic Vinylmation 3D look.
This pin was modeled after the Vinylmation from a design from the Park #4 set. This one represents the much beloved Colonel Critchlow Sunchbench from The Adventurer's Club (one of the original night clubs at Pleasure Island, then Downtown Disney [now Disney Springs]) as was designed by artist Adrianne Draude. The base metal of this pin is a golden yellow. The Colonel is wearing his iconic pith helmet which leaves the Mickey Ears of the Vinylmation empty so is filled with a forest green color. Colonel Critchlow face, complete with his spectacles and gray sideburn facial hair is over the Mickey head space. The vinylmation’s body is dressing in The Colonel’s award metal festooned red shirt complete with epaulets on his shoulders, white gloves covering his hands, and cross- bodied belt that is buckled at the center of his chest. The Adventurer's Club badge is depicted being attached to this belt. His pants and shoes are designed by having been influenced by details around the second floor balcony where he could be found "on duty".
The back of the pin has the Mickey waffling. Two posts are positioned behind the head. Across the back of the body is the Official 2011 Pin Trading Logo. The (C) Disney and China is at the bottom to the left. Next to that is the Vinylmation (tm) Logo.
