Vegan Options at Manhattan Restaurant, Disneyland Paris

We recently went to Disneyland Paris (October 2021) and were excited to try the new restaurant in Disney’s Hotel New York: Art of Marvel. DLP are getting much better at vegan options and as the Manhattan is one of the nicest hotels on property we were quietly optimistic about the vegan offering, it didn’t disappoint!

First off the restaurant itself is modern and feels very adult. I’m not sure this is somewhere that kids would enjoy as the theming is incredibly subtle and the restaurant feels quite upscale.

When we were seated we informed the serving staff that we were both vegan. We were given some warm bread rolls and some olive oil for dipping. The bread was good and it was nice to actually get something to lubricate it as with being vegan sometimes all you get is dry bread.

The starter was up next and it was a bowl of minestone soup. The soup was very good and the vegetables tasted fresh and there was plenty of them.

There was then a pasta dish for the main. The pasta was a buckwheat maltagliati which was very thick noodles, it was coated in pistachio pesto, and topped with roasted tomatoes and porcini mushrooms. The sauce was creamy and the mushrooms were delicious. They were simply pan cooked with herbs. This dish was large, much too big for me but a great sized portion for my husband.

Onto the dessert! This was the star of the meal and the best vegan dessert I think I’ve ever had. It was a chocolate cresomo. The menu describes it as a dark chocolate and olive oil cream with hazelnut crumble and pears cooked with vanilla. The cremoso was rich, thick and creamy, the hazelnut crumble was a sugary biscuit which added a great contrasting texture to the cremoso. There was stewed pears and pears that were dehydrated that added another interesting texture and the whole thing was topped with a chocolate shard. It looked and tasted beautiful. Normally I don’t have a sweet tooth but this dessert was amazing.

The wine list didn’t mention whether wines were vegan or not but we opted to go for the organic wine (these tend to be vegan but not always!) and Googled whether it was and we were lucky that it was! We opted for the Côtes du Rhône Parallèle 45 which was a pleasant accompaniment to our meal.

The Manhattan Restaurant would be my number one choice for a special meal in Disneyland Paris if you’re vegan. The best food on property in my opinion!
