To start us off, can you tell us a little about yourself?

Hi! My name is Lara, and I'm 14 years old. I love music, football and reading (mostly fantasy books which is probably why I'm a Disney fan, to be honest).

When and how did you get into pin trading?

When I was 12, I went to Disney land Paris for the first time and saw all the pin stands and that the staff were all wearing these really cute pins, so I asked them where I could get them, and they told me all about pin trading.

Do you have a main collection?

I don't really have main collections of pins because my collection is only 12 pins.

Like the Donald duck and Anna pins, some of my pins were traded by staff members, but the rest I bought myself.

We all start somewhere; for the longest time, my collection was about five pins in total! How do you decide which pins to buy?

When deciding to buy a pin, I really don't care if it's a limited edition or not. I buy pins that make me happy and that I can remember moments from.

That is an excellent way to decide which pins to get! What is your favourite pin?

My favourite pin is probably my spinning wheel pin which has Mickey and his friends with the Eiffel tower and behind it is the Disney castle (and it's also my most expensive one I got it for 13 euros) or my Davy Crockett Ranch hotel pin because that was the hotel I stayed at when I visited the parks. I thought that the pin was cute because it had a little key on it!

Would you recommend the Davy Crockett Ranch? (We've only been to Disneyland Paris once and stayed at the Newport Bay Club!)

I would totally recommend Davy Crockett Ranch! It's an exciting experience on its own, even without the parks! You get to have your own cabin with a small front porch, and the resort has a pool area with a water slide for kids. But there are a couple of disadvantages one is that you have to have a car because the hotel is based in a forest, so you have to drive from the reception to your cabin, and there is no transportation to and from the parks so it might not be good for tourists that don't have cars. Also, mosquitoes are quite annoying since it's a forest after all, but other than that, I think it was a really nice hotel and if I went again, I would very much consider going there again, but I would like to try more Disney hotels.

Excellent recommendation! What do you like most about pin trading?

My favourite thing about pin trading is that you can find pins that were discontinued and that you can connect with a whole community that loves pins as much as you do!

And if you could change one thing about pin trading, what would it be?

One thing I could change about pin trading is the number of counterfeit pins being sold on eBay and traded into the parks because some people spend lots of money on their pins that they get from Disney only to be traded with a fake pin that's worth nothing. Most of the times its bad quality.

Do you have any advice for someone who wants to get into pin trading?

If you want to start pin trading, I think that you should just start buying pins that mean a lot to you(your favourite rides, characters, etc…) and have your own collection that you cherish but for trading, you can start out by buying booster packs in the parks which come up to 4-5$ per pin which is like 2-3$ cheaper than the individual pins and use these for trading with staff members. Also, so that you're not tricked, watch some YouTube videos on how to spot fake pins.

Unrelated to pins, it is so cool you make wire rings! Do you have any plans to create any based on Disney characters?

I am thinking about making a Disney collection, but I would need to make more designs first to match the magical feeling that Disney has.

Thank you so much, is there anything else you'd like to add?

This was all. Thank you so much for reading this! I hope you have a nice day.
