Getting Started Guide

Table of contents

Welcome to Pin Trader Club! In this guide, we're going to walk you through some of the site's main features and how you can quickly make use of them to get started with a bang!

Your Profile

The first thing you'll want to do is set your profile up, there is some nice basic stuff, like adding a profile picture or a bio, but an essential thing that will allow you to get the most out of the site is setting your notification preferences.

You can visit your settings page to edit everything.

The three notification settings you can turn on or off are:

  • Do you want to get emails about notifications?
  • Do you like to be notified when someone has a pin for trade you want?
  • Do you want to be notified when someone wants a pin that you have for trade?

If you turn on all of these notifications, you'll be in a great position to learn about new traders and organise trades with them.

Organising Trades

If you are on a page for a pin you want, scroll down, and you will see a section called "Pin Stats" here you will see the numbers of people who have it for trade or want it.

If you click on the number or "see all traders", you will see a list of all users who have that pin for trade. Clicking into a user will show their profile, including a button to message them.

When messaging someone, you can optionally check a box to share a link to your in search of pins or your traders.

Once you've completed a trade with someone, be sure to recommend them!

Recommending others

If you've had a positive trade with someone from the site, be sure to leave them a brief review. If you visit their profile, you will see a link to recommend them. It only takes a few minutes and can help others to see how awesome a trader someone is. For example, look at how well regarded Andy is.

Searching For Pins

On all pages, you will see an area to search pins. Our search is powerful and can return movies, collections, characters, and of course, the pins themselves.

The more specific the search, the fewer pins will get returned. If there is a particular element you know is on the pin, try including it; for example, if I wanted to see all pins where Minnie Mouse had some treasure, I would search for "Minnie Mouse Treasure".

On any pin page, including the search pages, you will see the option to "Own", "ISO", or "Trade" a pin.

  • Clicking "Own" will add it to the pins you own.
  • Clicking "ISO" will add it to the pins you are in search of.
  • Clicking "Trade" will add it to the pins you are willing to trade.

Adding New Pins

If you own a pin that you can't find on the site, we'd love you to add it! Adding pins is a great way to help our community, and we are so thankful to everyone who takes the time to add pins.

There are links around the site to add a new pin.

Please add as much information about the pin as you can, describing the pin as if you were explaining it to someone over the phone and using as specific a title as you can; for example, "Tigger" isn't as good a title as "Tigger eating an ice-cream". One of our outstanding members, LadyRogue86, has written an excellent guide to naming pins

  1. Is the pin trading event scheduled for Sunday still going to happen?

    1. Hi, the best thing to do is to contact the organisers directly. We only link to third party events so they will know whether the events will take place or not. Normally there is a social media link in the event listing 😊

  2. Is it possible to sell pins or trade only

    Greg2white - 13 Oct 2021 6:33 PM
    1. Hey Greg, not entirely sure what you mean. Through this website you can contact other users who you want to trade with. We have no mechanism for selling or buying pins.

  3. Thank you for your article on the Priority Card!! I have a question. My daughter was able to use the Disney World DAS system for her Crohn's diagnosis and it worked well for her. As I am reading about the Priority Card and Easy Access, I see a list of disabilities (including Crohn's) for the Easy Access, but not for the Priority Card. Do they have a list? We are trying to figure out how to prepare for her before our trip. Much of the time, she is well controlled. But in a different country with different foods, I am pretty confident she will have a flare and long lines just won't work. Thank you!

    1. So sorry on the late reply, but I don't believe there is a list, it is assessed based on which documents you have, which aren't based on condition.
